Beyond Humanity 20th Anniversary

We’re excited to be remastering and reissuing Beyond Humanity this year, for it’s 20th anniversary!

Beyond Humanity was Interface’s third studio album, and first to be released on the American label Nilaihah Records, in March of 2006. Marking a notable departure from the previous release (2002’s Angels In Disguise), it had a colder, somewhat darker tone throughout its track listing. The album’s central concept was humankind’s loss of control in its world – especially to technology and the uncertainty of the future. Crunchy beats and synths were met with heavily-processed vocals and samples.

Highlights of the album included “Age Of Computers” – a futurepop anthem with thunderous synth lines and melodic vocals that endures as one of the band’s most popular songs in Europe, and a live show staple to this day. “Faith In Nothing” and “Nobody’s Hero” brought high-tempo EBM attitude, the latter being a huge mid-decade floor-filler in its reinvented “Vengeance Version” remix. These are then balanced out by the melancholy synth-pop of “Stranger In A Strange Land” and the robotic electro of “Beyond Human” (and its synthetically generated lead vocals).

This special reissue features the full original track listing, alongside over a half-hour of bonus material from the album’s era – including the now out-of-print “Escape” EP, the “Vengeance Version” of “Nobody’s Hero”, and three unreleased demos.
